In the drama, Yeom Chang-hee (Lee Min-ki) was clumsy but helped Yeom Je-ho (Chun Ho-jin), who quietly did housework and factory work, the day after his mother Kwak Hye-suk (Lee Kyung-seong)’s funeral. Yeom Chang-hee, who was having a drink with his friends that night, tried to swallow his loneliness and sadness with a smile, saying that he was able to assist Yeom Je-ho because he timed his resignation well. Then, he carefully buried Kwak Hye-suk’s artificial joint, which could not be cremated, in the ground and sent her off.

Afterwards, Yeom Chang-hee, who had been taking care of his family, unexpectedly overturned Yeom Je-ho’s mind due to a loan of his younger sister Yeom Mi-jung (Kim Ji-won), which was revealed at dinner. When Yeom Ki-jung (Lee El) scolded Yeom Mi-jung for borrowing money without telling her, Yeom Chang-hee expressed his anger as he asked, “Since when did we ever depend on our family?” However, at a dinner with Yeom Je-ho a few days later, Yeom Chang-hee cleared up his misunderstanding with his father by saying warmly, “Don’t worry, dad. We’ll be on better terms with each other.”

In addition, on a trip to the beach in the car that was eventually pulled out under the pretext of harmoniousness of a family of four, Yeom Chang-hee told Yeom Je-ho his true feelings that he had hidden deep in his heart. He approached Yeom Je-ho, who was standing alone looking at the sea, looked at the same place and confessed, “There are still three of us beside you. I love you, dad.”

In this day’s episode, Lee Min-ki pretended to be calm to protect his father, who would feel lonely and sad more than anyone else after sending his mother off, but he left a deep lingering impression on viewers’ hearts by expressing the sorrow at his mother’s absence through his eyes.

Meanwhile, JTBC’s “My Liberation Notes” starring Lee Min-ki airs every Saturday and Sunday at 10:30 PM.
