Lee Ji-ah is satisfied with ‘Penthouse’s ending: “Lo-Ryeon couple had a happy ending”

Lee Ji-ah, who played Shim Soo-ryeon in the “Penthouse” series, expressed her satisfaction with the controversial ending of “Penthouse 3”.

On October 5th, Lee Ji-ah spent time communicating with fans through a live broadcast on her Instagram.

On this day, Lee Ji-ah shared her thoughts on the ending of SBS “Penthouse” series, “It was not easy to say goodbye because I’ve been living as ‘Shim Soo-ryeon’ for so long. In fact, it seems like I haven’t left the series yet.

She expressed her affection for the series by saying she would try to forget ‘Penthouse’ with her next work. She also confessed she had a different opinion when fans responded that the ending of ‘Lo-Ryeon couple’ (Shim Soo-ryeon, Logan Lee) was disappointing.

Regarding the ending of ‘Lo-Ryeon couple’, Lee Ji-ah said, “Isn’t it a happy ending? I think it’s a happy ending” and guessed that the two would live happily in their next life.

Then she added, “Many people feel disappointed that the happy ending didn’t happen (in this lifetime). But in a way, I wonder if people would feel happy if they reunite under that circumstances.”

In addition, Lee Ji-ah told a behind-the-scenes story, saying that the action scene with Joo Dan-tae (Uhm Ki-joon) was difficult. After filming several takes, she felt sick and had to lie down.

In SBS ‘Penthouse 3’, Shim Soo-ryeon (Lee Ji-ah) fell off a cliff and passed away, meanwhile, Logan Lee (Park Eun-seok) died of bone marrow cancer later.

In the last episode, Shim Soo-ryeon and Logan Lee reunited as souls in front of Bae Ro-na (Kim Hyun-soo)’s concert hall. They smiled happily and ended up heading somewhere together.

After dealing with the villains, the main characters who were supposed to live happily also died. It made fans of the ‘Penthouse’ series feel bitter that the ending was too sad.

Meanwhile, “Penthouse” started with season 1 in October last year and drew attention with a story full of twists and turns. The series announced its end with “Penthouse 3” last month.
