Lee Byung-hun will appear in “Squid Game” Season 2? Netflix announces new lineup

Through the TUDUM Korea event, the world-class entertainment streaming service Netflix introduced works scheduled to be released in the second half of this year and next year.

The lineup included entertainment programs such as “Single’s Inferno” Season 2, “Physical: 100”, “Korea No.1” and series such as “Glitch”, “The Glory”, “The Fabulous”.

At 11 AM on Sep 24th (KST), through Netflix’s global fan event “TUDUM Korea”, information on Netflix’s Korean works was first revealed, including entertainment programs, the lineup for the second half of 2022 and unpublished clip videos.

Participant Moon Se-hoon, who drew attention with his single-minded devotion on “Single’s Inferno“, which caused a sensation last winter, returns to Inferno Island with Shin Ji-yeon in Season 2. “Physical: 100”, an extreme survival game entertainment show featuring 100 people who fancy themselves to have the “strongest physique”, was also unveiled. Amid the prediction of a fierce confrontation in a huge space that did not exist anywhere else in the world, you can see the faces of martial artist Choo Sung-hoon, skeleton national team member Yoon Sung-bin and baseball player Dustin Nippert, stimulating curiosity. On “Korea No.1”, Yoo Jae-suk, Kim Yeon-koung and Lee Kwang-soo visit Korea’s No.1 master craftsmen, pour out all their physical and mental strength, experience traditional labor and struggle to become No.1 of the day.

The list of works scheduled to be released in the second half of the year was also unveiled. Choi Min-ho, who was in charge of hosting the event, appeared as Ji Woo-min in “The Fabulous” and revealed the warm filming site with Chae Soo-bin. Attention is drawn to the fantastic chemistry of young people who chase their dreams alongside fashion’s elite while juggling demanding jobs, romantic dilemmas and wild nights in the town. Director Jung Ji-woo’s first series “Somebody” (A software developer and her friends become entangled in a murder case involving her dating app and a mysterious man who seems to be hiding something) and “The Glory” starring Song Hye-kyo and Lee Do-hyun (After a childhood marked by pain and violence, a woman puts a carefully planned revenge scheme in motion) announced their releases this year. “Glitch”, which is set to be released on Oct 7th, released a highlight video. While the computer surrounding Ji-hyo (Jeon Yeo-bin) is showing a “glitch” phenomenon, a voice saying “I’m watching” is added, raising curiosity about what is going on. A pre-released video of “20th Century Girl” starring Kim Yoo-jung and Byeon Woo-seok, which depicts the friendship and freshness of first love based in the backdrop of 1999, was also released. In addition to the lineup for the second half of the year, the next season of works that attracted global attention such as “D.P.”, “Sweet Home” and “All of Us Are Dead” was also announced.

The production of Season 2 of “Hellbound“, which shocked and thrilled viewers with its unconventional and fresh setting of condemning people to Hell, was also announced. “Hellbound”, which surprised the world by revealing a shocking worldview in Season 1, returns with a story that has been expanded and deepened. Lee Hyun-woo, a member of a robbery gang which tried to steal money that was not in the world, appeared in a red jumpsuit and unexpectedly unveiled a video of “Money Heist: Korea – Joint Economic Area” Part 2. The charismatic video of Cha Moo-hyuk (Kim Sung-oh), a former special agent from North Korea, stimulates curiosity about Part 2.

The news of “Squid Game“, which has written a new history over the past year by winning 6 categories at Primetime Emmy Awards including Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series and Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series, was also added. Expectations for Season 2 are already soaring with director Hwang Dong-hyuk’s thank you greeting and an unreleased clip video of Season 1. In particular, the Front Man (Lee Byung-hun), who surprised everyone in Season 1, appeared without a mask, adding to the thirst for the story to come.
