Krystal leaves SM Entertainment after 10 years

F(x) Krystal (Jung Soo-jung) has left SM. 

On August 18, an official in the entertainment industry said to the Daily Sports that “Krystal is preparing for her new start in a new place, leaving SM Entertainment, where Krystal has been attached to for more than 10 years.”

Krystal has already made several contacts with famous actor managing company in Korea. As long as the news of Krystal being free agent spreads, many company has approached and had several meetings with her.

There were meetings, but no company has progressed to a specific contract yet. Krystal has been acting since she’s still in f(x) and now she is looking for a company that can focus on acting.

Besides, as she always wanted a solo album during f(x) activities, she is also planning to release a solo album with a new agency. As a result, all members of f(x) except Victoria are separated from SM Entertainment.

Krystal debuted in 2009 as a member of f(x) with four other members. They had many hit songs like “La Cha Ta”, “Pinocchio”, “Hot Summer”, “Electric Shock”, “Rum Pum Pum Pum” and “Red Light”. Starting with the 2010 sitcom “More Charming by the Day”, Krystal also had many experiences in acting for starring in “High Kick: Revenge of the Short Legged” of director Kim Byung-wook, “The Heirs” of author Kim Eun-sook, “Prison Playbook” of PD Shin Won-ho. Currently, she is starring in the upcoming military thriller drama OCN ‘Search’, which depicts the mysterious disappearances and murders that took place in the forefront demilitarized zone, and the battle of the elite search team to uncover the secrets.
