Kpop year-end events: Some were praised for their performance, some were bashed for revealing outfits
BTS, Joy, Kai, Hwasa, Hyorin are the most talked-about idols in the events held at the end of 2018.
BTS
The Big Hit stars are the “kings” of awards ceremonies and year-end events. The performances of the group were heavily invested, completely live and made the audience admire with their magnificent class. Each member had their own performing time, showing their own talents. Their constantly renewed hits and the visual of V, Jin, Jung Kook made into the top trends of the world. Many people wonder how BTS takes the time to practice and the strength to run the shows and yet all performances of theirs were excellent and had no reason to criticize.
BTS always has special stages and a big number of views. The Daesang awards and the effort that the TV stations invest in BTS show that the group is standing at the top of Kpop.

Joy (Red Velvet)
Joy was named the star of the year-end events as she always had special performances, causing fever thanks to her appearance. On the 2017 MAMA, the member of Red Velvet became a sexy icon when wearing a tight red dress, showing off her curve. Joy could have fans take gorgeous photos just by sitting.
At KBS Gayo Daechukje on Dec 28th 2018, Joy continued to be the center of attention for being a perfect match with the sexy concept of the “Hush” performance. Even though she was standing together with other gorgeous visuals like Tzuyu (TWICE), Yeonwoo (MOMOLAND),…the Red Velvet member was still the eye-catcher. Netizens complimented her and even commented that she is fit for a solo career.
Kai (EXO)
At EXO’s performances, Kai always stands at the most special position with solo dances to showcase his skill. On the stage of SBS Gayo Daejun, Kai did quite a sexy and controversial performance. The male idol was wearing a low-neck top, showing off almost all of his torso. It was Kai who chose the outfit and some netizens think that it is too weird and voluptuous. However, despite all the controversies, the EXO member still got complimented for his stage aura.
Hwasa (Mamamoo)
Hwasa became the center of criticism for her extremely revealing outfits at MAMA in Japan and SBS Gayo Daejun. This MAMAMOO member is not afraid to wear any see-through, swimsuit-like outfit at big music events. Her outfits have stirred up many heated debate. Some netizens said that she was overdoing by wearing controversial clothes at show whose audiences are partly children. Wearing too revealing stage outfit makes Hwasa seems “cheap”, they said.
Hyorin
The only star who has the ability to kick Jennie – Kai off the top searched chart on Jan 1st was Hyorin. The female singer has had a quite shocking stage at the KBS Drama Awards. The ex-Sistar member appeared in a tight swimsuit-like outfit, showing off her behind. Her choreography was also controversial. Hyorin was criticized because she was performing at a drama award at which there were many veteran actors/actresses, not a weekly music show.
Some comments said, “Hyorin, you are not sexy at all, please stop this concept”, “A drama award turned into a strip show”, “The actors seemed awkward and don’t know how to react”, “I was watching the show with my family and was extremely embarassed”, “Well, congratulations for making it on the top searched chart right on the first day of a new year”…
