Korean netizens jokingly claimed that “Squid Game” plagiarized a famous Korean show called “Infinite Challenge”

While Netflix’s original drama “Squid Game” is being loved by people around the world, K-netizens summoned the old show “Infinite Challenge” and made a comparison.

On September 24, a post titled “9 cuts from Infinite Challenge that summarize Squid Game” was posted on a Facebook page named “Idol Lab”.

The post was uploaded with 9 photos showing the cast members of MBC’s entertainment program “Infinite Challenge” playing “slap-match”, “red light, green light”, “tug of war”, “marbles”, and “squid game” on a broadcast. In particular, the photos of the movie’s highlights were attached in the back, making netizens burst into laughter.

In response, Internet users said, “Squid Game is a complete copy of Infinite Challenge”, “Isn’t this enough to call Infinite Challenge a thriller drama?”, “I get goosebumps whenever I see these things”, “Who is Kim Tae Ho?”, “How many years did the show aired before the drama?”, “I can’t believe the movie could be summarized with only 9 cuts… “Infinite Challenge” did have everything”, “Go watch the show if you haven’t”, “I’m surprised every time I see this.”

Meanwhile, according to Flixpatrol, Netflix’s original drama “Squid Game”, which was first premiered on September 17, ranked No.1 on the U.S Netflix for the first time on September 21, 5 days after its release. On September 24, the drama also topped the world’s Netflix TV content category.
