After being requested for an examination by singer Kim Jong-kook, who was suspected of using doping, the Korea Anti Doping Agency (KADA) rejected it.

An official from the KADA Doping Inspection Department said in an interview with the JoongAng Ilbo on November 8th, “We have no plans to conduct tests on Kim Jong-kook at the moment.”

According to the official’s explanation, the drug test is conducted only on registered athletes.

Also, not all registered players can do this test. Athletes participating in international competitions such as the Olympics and athletes who might become national teams’ members are the priority targets.

When asked if one could be tested personally, an official said, “Before, there were cases where bodybuilders and others demanded doping tests to prove that they were clean.”

However, the doping test costs more than 500,000 won to 1 million won each, including various costs such as testing and sample costs. This means that tests cannot be conducted for the purpose of personal interest.

When asked if there is any possibility of testing Kim Jong-kook specifically to promote problems with drug use, they said, “He must at least be registered as an athlete to be able to do the test,” adding that they have no plans to test him at the moment.

At the same time, they are concerned that if Kim Jong-kook is allowed to do the examination, others could question the issue of equity.

In order for Kim Jong-kook to be tested, he will have to register as an official athlete of a sports organization under the Korea Sports Council first, and then the KADA will have to conduct the test after they receive the request from any of the relevant sports organizations.

Earlier, Greg Doucette praised Kim Jong-kook’s body but said, “If there is a bet of 1 million dollars, I would say he is using steroids,” causing a controversy around the world.

Kim Jong-kook then responded strongly by saying that he is ready to take all kinds of drug tests currently in existence to prove himself, while expressing his absurd position on the drug scandal.

Referring to the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), the Korea Anti-Doping Agency (KADA) and the US Anti-Doping Agency (USADA), Kim Jong-kook expressed that he would like to be able to test at any of the above agencies. However, it is expected to be difficult.
