Recently, Japanese media outlets reported that SBS’s “My Love from the Star” will be remade into Amazon Prime’s original drama in Japan. SBS’s “My Love from the Star” is a drama that aired in Korea from December 2013 and ended successfully in February 2014.

My Love from the Star

This work depicts the sweet romance between Do Min-joon (Kim Soo-hyun), an alien who landed on Earth 400 years ago, and top star Chun Song-yi (Jun Ji-hyun). In particular, “My Love from the Star” drew attention not only for Jun Ji-hyun’s bubbly charm, but also for the exciting story and main characters’ colorful fashion. The drama was loved not only in Korea but also in China and America. It even sparked a craze for “chimaek” – a combination of chicken and beer.

In the Japanese remake, Sota Fukushi and Mizuki Yamamoto are expected to play Do Min-joon and Chun Song-yi, respectively.

Sota Fukushi is a Japanese youth actor who became a popular star with the movie “My Tomorrow, Your Yesterday” as well as dramas “I’m Taking the Day Off” and “Koinaka”. Meanwhile, Mizuki Yamamoto also gained popularity by appearing in numerous works such as movies “Sadako vs. Kayako”, “Peach Girl” and the drama “The Count of Monte-Cristo: Great Revenge”.

The Japanese remake version of “My Love from the Stars”, which is receiving explosive attention due to the appearance of hot stars in Japan, will be revealed for the first time through Amazon Prime in January 2022.
