Kim Sae Ron’s Drunk Driving Incident Delays The Release of Netflix’s “Bloodhounds” To The 2nd Quarter

Netflix has decided to release “Bloodhounds” later this year. However, the exact release date remains undecided.

Based on a webtoon, “Bloodhounds” depicts the stories of three young men and women who enter the world of loan sharks to pay off their debts. The drama stars actors Woo Do Hwan, Lee Sang Yi, Kim Sae Ron, Park Sung Woong, and Heo Joon Ho. The production was delayed in May of last year due to Kim Sae Ron’s drunk driving accident, which occurred after the latter half of filming was completed.

At the time, Kim Sae Ron had finished filming all of her scenes for “Bloodhounds” and only had post-production work left to do. After her scandal, the production team decided to edit her scenes as much as possible and cast Jung Da Eun to create a new character for additional filming. Furthermore, the release schedule was postponed indefinitely.

As the editing of Kim Sae Ron’s scenes and the additional filming with Jung Da Eun continued, “Bloodhounds” was originally scheduled to be released in the first quarter of 2023 but has since been delayed to the second quarter.

Meanwhile, Kim Sae Ron attended a public trial at the Seoul Central District Court on the morning of March 8th. Kim Sae Ron’s defense attorney said, “The defendant deeply regrets her actions and has compensated for all the damage. She is currently supporting her family as the eldest daughter, but is struggling financially due to the compensation she has to pay.”

The prosecution, on the other hand, said, “Kim Sae Ron had a blood alcohol level of over 0.2% and took no further action after drunk driving. The responsibility of passenger A, who knew about Kim’s drunk driving, is not light. However, they did confess and tried to make amends for the damage caused.” As a result, Kim was fined 20 million won and A was fined 5 million won.
