Summary

“Karma” is the first drama series by director Lee Il-hyung, known for “A Violent Prosecutor”, and is based on a Kakao Webtoon of the same name. With the production team behind “Narco-Saints” involved, expectations are high that this will become Netflix Korea’s another original hit.

The cast includes powerhouse actors such as Park Hae-soo, Shin Min-ah, Lee Hee-joon, Kim Sung-kyun, Lee Kwang-soo and Gong Seung-yeon. Notably, this marks Shin Min-ah, Lee Kwang-soo and Gong Seung-yeon’s first leading roles in a Netflix series, adding to the excitement.

In the newly revealed still cuts:

Park Hae-soo plays “The Witness”, seen riding a bicycle at night with a tense expression. After witnessing a mysterious accident, he accepts a dangerous offer to cover it up, leading to an irreversible transaction. His intense performance is expected to draw viewers deep into his character’s moral conflict.

Shin Min-ah portrays “Joo-yeon”, an emotionally scarred surgeon. In her still cut, she appears blocked by someone, creating suspense. Her character is forced to confront a figure from her past—someone she never wanted to see again—bringing out a complex mix of pain and revenge.

Lee Hee-joon takes on the role of “The Loan Shark”, whose still cut shows him clenching his teeth in anger. After losing everything in a failed cryptocurrency investment, he becomes desperate to escape his dire financial situation, willing to do anything to survive.

Kim Sung-kyun plays “Gil-ryong”, seen ominously standing behind a car with its rear lights glowing. After losing his job, he is pushed to the brink and gets caught in an inescapable cycle of bad choices when offered a lucrative but dangerous deal.

Lee Kwang-soo plays “The Glasses Man”, a successful traditional medicine doctor, seen clutching his head in distress. A small mistake snowballs into a catastrophic accident, forcing him to cover up the incident, leading to a life-altering series of events.

Gong Seung-yeon portrays “Yoo-jeong”, who appears elegantly dressed in a stylish setting. As The Glasses Man’s girlfriend, she plays a key role in supporting his cover-up, ultimately fueling the chaotic entanglement of fates in the story.

“Karma” is a crime thriller about six individuals whose lives become irreversibly intertwined in a vicious cycle of misfortune. Bound by an ominous fate they neither recognize nor understand, they struggle to break free from their ties to one another.
