CJ E&M to acquire that Pledis Entertainment’s SEVENTEEN, NU’EST, PRISTIN will become CJ’s artists

CJ E&M is seeking to own the majority of the stocks in Pledis Entertainment.

In the morning of June 12th, Korean media reported that CJ E&M is in discussion to acquire the majority of the stocks in Pledis Entertainment – the company of many popular artists such as: After School, NU’EST, SEVENTEEN, PRISTIN and Han Dong Geun. This move by CJ is quite surprising and it has triggered many strong oppositions from the netizen

In response, a source from CJ ENM commented, “It is true that we are working on and discussing to acquire shares of Pledis Entertainment,” and added, “However, details are still being discussed.

Even so, the news about CJ soon taking over Pledis got so many negative reactions from both Korean and international netizens, especially those who are fans of the idols from this company. Many people commented, “What am I reading?…”, “What’s going on?”, “Please, Pledis is just Pledis”, “Don’t be like that, please”, “Please Pledis, please Han Sung Soo, please…”, “Think about it again, everything is fine as it always has been”, “Pledis please sober up again…”.
