The latest short clip shared by the famous American host Jimmy Fallon is gaining attention on social media.
After the cast of the world-famous Netflix original series ‘Squid Game’ confirmed their appearance at the famous American talk show ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon’, Jimmy Fallon recently shared a video of him trying the viral sugar honeycomb challenge in the drama.
On October 6th, on the official YouTube channel of the Jimmy Fallon Show, a short video titled ‘Jimmy vs the Squid Game cookie’ was posted. The video begins with him following the recipe to make the sugar honeycomb candy, also known as dalgona, that appears in Squid Game. The dalgona was made by melting sugar then stamped with Jimmy Fallon’s initials, ‘JF’.
Jimmy Fallon is also seen wearing the signature green tracksuit worn by Squid Game’s main characters in his video. After that, he licked the Dalgona aggressively, similar to what the male lead Sung Ki-hoon (Lee Jung Jae) did in the drama, in order to separate the shape of ‘JF’ from the candy edges.
But the moment he used a needle, his Dalgona was split in half and an added audio “Oh! Damn it,” can be heard. The video ends with Jimmy Fallon lying face down on the floor. This scene is reminiscent of the losers in Squid Game.
Netizens have responded positively to this short but fun video. People left comments such as “Even Jimmy tries the viral Squid Game’s Dalgona challenge on TikTok” and “I look forward to seeing more of Jimmy and the Squid Game actors on the show”.
Jimmy Fallon and the cast of Squid Game including Lee Jung-jae, Park Hae-soo, Jeong Ho-yeon, and Wi Ha-joon had a meeting via video call on the same day around 5 am KST.
The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon is a famous American talk show by NBC that has featured famous guests such as former US president Barack Obama and Donald Trump as well as world-class celebrities such as Brad Pitt and Ariana Grande. This is the first time for Korean actors to appear on the show. Previously, BTS, director Bong Joon-ho, and BlackPink had been guests on the show.
The episode featuring the cast of Squid Game will be broadcast on October 7th at 12:30 pm KST.
