The mobile game “Jentle Garden” released by Gentle Monster topped the chart of popular apps just one day after it appeared on App Store.
After being launched at 2 P.M on February 22nd, “Jentle Garden” entered the global entertainment chart at 2nd place in the evening of the same day. A day later, on February 23rd, it ranked No.1 in the Korea category.
It is quite unusual for a mobile game launched by a fashion brand, not a game company, to top the popular app charts.
The project, which has been unveiled since December after several hints and teasers of Gentle Monster’s second collaboration with BLACKPINK Jennie was released, caught the attention of many people because Gentle Monster has now expanded its scope to the game sector, announcing a high-quality game project. There are also speculations that Gentle Monster will enter Metabus in earnest, starting with this game.
“Jentle Garden”, the fantasy world created by Gentle Monster and BLACKPINK Jennie, is a game launched to celebrate their collaboration ahead of the launching of new collection products in mid-March. Through the detailed elements in the game, people can get a glimpse of the entire collection theme, 5 cities around the world with pop-up stores, and collection products in advance.
The Pixel Art design in the game was conducted together with artist Joo Jae-bum.
The game will be held in the form of a mobile game event for a month from February 22th. During the event, special packages containing 5 types of “Jentle Garden” eyewear products will be presented as prizes to 40 global participants in 4 weeks (10 participants each week).
The next content of the collaboration of Gentle Monster and Jennie will be released around mid-March and eyewear products created with Jennie’s plan will be launched on Gentle Monster’s official website and offline store on March 10th.
The game can be downloaded from Google Play Store and App Store, and participated by global fans in Asia, the U.S, Europe, etc.
