January Kpop Boy Group Brand Reputation Rankings Announced

The Korean Business Research Institute has revealed this month’s brand reputation rankings for Kpop boy groups!

According to the recent report released by the Korean Business Research Institute, BTS has secured the No. 1 spot in the brand reputation rankings for male idol groups this month.  Seventeen came in second, NCT in third, Wanna One in fourth, and EXO in fifth.

The Korea Corporate Reputation Research Institute (Director Koo Chang-hwan) analyzed 61,966,657 big data of boy group brands measured from December 8, 2021 to January 7, 2022 to measure participation index, media index, communication index, and community index for boy group brands. Brand big data increased 16.76% from 53,070,133 in December 2021.​

BTS (RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, Jungkook) tops the list with a brand reputation index of 11,027,000; the participation index is 2,908,359 ; media index gained by the group is 1,560,156; Communication index is 3,265,662; Lastly, the community index of BTS is 3,292,823 The brand reputation index increased by 26.30% compared to 8,730,664 in December. 

High-ranking phrases in BTS’s keyword analysis included “Billboard,” “Oricon,” and “COVID,” while their highest-ranking related terms included “award,” “donate,” and “recover.” The group’s positivity-negativity analysis also revealed a score of 69.29 percent positive reactions.

Following BTS, the second position is secured by SEVENTEEN (S.Coups, Jeonghan, Joshua, Jun, Hoshi, Wonwoo, Woozi, DK, Mingyu, The8, Seungkwan, Vernon, Dino). The 13-member group had the brand reputation index of  3,665,984. The brand participation index is 420,864; Media Index for December is 1,504,089; Communication Index is 716,358; And the Community Index is 1,024,673. Comparing from last month, their brand reputation index is up 3.51% from last December 3,541,815.

NCT acquired the third position on January Kpop Boy Group Brand Reputation rankings. The SM Entertainment group had a brand reputation index of 3,643,859 in January. NCT attained a participation index of 305,510; a communication index of 600,303; a media index of 1,510,485 ; And a community index of 1,227,561. The brand reputation index rose 52.05% from 2,396,510 in December.
