IVE comes under controversy for not showing respect for their seniors (ft. NCT Jaemin’s surprised expression)

Rookie girl group IVE continues to be called out on their attitude towards seniors. 

IVE is currently the hottest but also the most controversial rookie. Despite making their debut less than a month ago, the group gets scrutinized several times for not showing proper respect for other artists on camera. Specifically, on the encore stage at Inkigayo and Music Core, not sure if it was deliberate or unintentional, but IVE was seen ignoring and not greeting the MCs respectfully as they should have. Notably, the MCs are also IVE’s seniors, including NCT’s Jaemin who debuted 5 years earlier than IVE. 

During Inkigayo ending, a music show where Yujin – IVE’s leader – is part of the MC trio, netizens notice the girl group was only focusing on interacting with the camera and thus ignored the other two male MCs, NCT’s Sungchan and TREASURE’s Jihoon. As an MC, Yujin should have been the one to remind other members to bow to other MCs before they got off the stage, but she herself also forgot. 

A similar situation happened at Music Core when IVE ignored NCT’s Jaemin and Stray Kids’ Lee Know. The group even interrupted when MC Jaemin was speaking. The male idol’s expression shows that he was taken aback. 

These attitude controversies continue to worsen IVE’s image. Hopefully, the members will be more cautious in the future.
