IU continues to spread good influence by donating to charity on the occasion of her 14th debut anniversary 

IU donates 200 million won in celebration of the 14th anniversary of her debut. Her accumulated donations amounted to about 4.5 billion won.

On September 18th, through her agency Edam Entertainment’s official Instagram account, IU posted two photos, saying, “With Uaenas (IU’s fandom), who have give me miracles, big and small, for 15 years, I’m sharing the warmth this year with a heart full of gratitude.” The donation certificates were also released.

IU continued, “As we confirmed in one place yesterday, I hope that our hearts will gather and bring another small miracle to someone. All the time I spent with Uaena for the last 15 years has been my golden hour. Thank you and I love you.”

IU’s generous donation of 200 million won is expected to be used for pediatric cancer patients, female cancer patients, and support for young people preparing for self-reliance.

IU is known as a leading “donation angel” in Korea’s entertainment industry. According to a recently aired episode on Mnet ‘TMI NEWS SHOW’, IU’s donation amount in 2021 alone is about 1.67 billion won, and the accumulated donation amount since her debut is 4.5 billion won including the latest one. She is also known to have made a direct donation proposal to the advertisers of the brands she endorses.

Earlier, on September 17 and 18th, IU became the first female singer in Korea to hold a solo concert ‘The Golden Hour: Under the Orange Sun’ at the Olympic Main Stadium, Jamsil Sports Complex in Seoul.
