JYP suddenly announced ITZY’s first full album right after introducing the first members of the company’s new girl group.
On August 13 at midnight KST, ITZY unveiled a comeback poster for “CRAZY IN LOVE,” which will be their first full album. The album will be released on September 24 at 1 p.m. KST.
Accordingly, LOCO – the title track of this full album will be produced by team Galactika – the team who gave ITZY their first hit, “Dalla Dalla.” Thus, this will be the group’s second comeback this year, following the release of the mini-album Guess Who in late April.
Many netizens had speculated that, after launching the new girl group project, JYP would neglect ITZY and focus all of their resources on the new girl group. Similar to ITZY, the new girl group is pursuing a girl crush style. The newly-announced first three members are all outstanding in every way, from their appearance to their talent. Even though they have yet to make their debut, JYP’s new girls have already captivated the audience’s hearts. Furthermore, ITZY’s main vocalist, Lia, has been embroiled in a school violence controversy, which has badly affected the group’s reputation. The above reasons made netizens believe that JYP would soon neglect ITZY.
JYP, on the other hand, was still tremendously interested in ITZY, far above anyone’s expectations. JYP continued to give the group their first full album despite Lia’s scandal. Park Jin Young, on the other hand, was not permitted to participate in the creation process this time because he was renowned for penning unfavorable songs for his idols. Furthermore, the producers that worked on ITZY’s immensely popular breakthrough song “Dalla Dalla” have returned. Likely, another similarly appealing song will soon be released.
The matter of Lia’s controversy, however, remained. Thankfully, JYP did not forsake ITZY, but will the public not turn their back on the group? Lia has recently been subjected to a barrage of criticism every time she appears in the media. Many netizens even threatened to boycott ITZY if Lia was still a member of the group. So, will their next comeback be a wise decision?
