Lee Da Hee revealed why she wanted to appear on “Island” so badly.
On the afternoon of Dec 22nd, a production presentation for the original TVing “Island” was held at the Conrad Hotel in Yeouido, Seoul. Director Bae Jong, actors Kim Nam Gil, Lee Da Hee, Cha Eun Woo, and Sung Joon attended the event.
“Island” is a drama based on the cartoon/webtoon of the same name by Yoon In Wan and Yang Kyung Il, which depicts the journey of characters who have a destiny to fight against the evil that wants to destroy the world.
Lee Da H shared how she desperately wanted to appear in “Island.” “I have had a long hiatus before this. My previous work was an action genre, and I tried it because I was ambitious. In the eyes of the viewers, I said I was going to challenge myself, but maybe they still felt the awkwardness on me. I was hurt by the comments and decided to stop acting for a while.“
The actress then revealed that Seo Ye Ji was originally casted for the role of Mi Ho, but voluntarily dropped out due to her personal life controversy.
“I read the webtoon because I wanted to better portray the character Mi Ho. I want to do more than imagining her,” Lee Da Hee added. She also revealed that she was honored to be acting with Kim Nam Gil for the first time. “It seemed like a work that would never come again in my life, working with everyone like this”, she said.
On the other hand, “Island”, which stars Kim Nam Gil, Sung Joon, Lee Da Hee, Cha Eun Woo, Lee Da Hee, Go Doo Shim, and more, will be released on the OTT platform TVing on December 30th.
