Is this true that KARD should promote abroad only because they are not popular in Korea?

Having officially been active as an idol group for over a year but KARD is still considered a no-name in Korea despite their immense popularity abroad.

First introduced to the public at the end of 2016 and having officially promoted since the middle of 2017, KARD has had many international activities in America and Europe. Their North American tour was even sold out in a few minutes.

However, in their home country, the DSP co-ed group doesn’t receive much attention, which is the reason why K-netizens are advising the group to focus on the international market.

According to these netizens, because of the American feels in the group’s music style, KARD seems to receive more love from international fans. That they hold a lot of concerts outside of Korea also helps the group become more popular abroad.

However, KARD is advised to promote overseas more if they want to be successful. Below are some comments written by Korean netizens regarding the topic:

“It’s difficult for a co-ed group to promote in Korea. I’ve just watched their stages and the girls are so freaking pretty.”

“Their songs “Oh Nana” and “Rumor” are ridiculously amazing but they still can’t rise in Korea. What a shame.”

“Their weakness is the company. Please keep working hard.”

“If you’re doing well oversea, just focus on it. Don’t waste your time in Korea if it doesn’t work at all.”
