If they reach this “billion views” milestone, BLACKPINK will have one more impossible-to-reach record!
Just last week, BLACKPINK has become the first K-Pop group to have their MV surpassed the number of 800 million views on YouTube with “DDU-DU DDU-DU”. Not yet satisfied, BLINKs immediately joined hands to bring the 4 YG girls to a higher mark: 1 billion views!
The targer is not faraway at all when the views is speedily rising every day like right now, and BLACKPINK might be the first K-Pop group to reach 1 billion views on YouTube. It’s only a matter of “when” now.
According to the statistics page kworb, in the past 10 days, the views each day of the “DDU-DU DDU-DU” MV fluctuates between 1,4 million – 1,7 million even though the MV is almost 1 year old. With such a fast pace, this hit is predicted to reach 1 billion views on September 14th, 2019 (this number is estimated by kworb based on the views each day).
In such a situation where there is no rival strong enough (even BTS and TWICE) to compete with them on the road to 1 billion views, BLACKPINK is highly expected to broke this record.
- The first MV from a K-Pop group to reach 1 billion views on YouTube.
- Along with PSY, BLACKPINK will become 1 of 2 artists with billion-view MV.
- YG maintains their position as the only K-Pop agency with 1-billion-view artists
