Many fans of Kpop idols still hold grudges at Mnet’s biased treatment towards actors at MAMA 2020. 

MAMA (Mnet Asian Music Awards) is one of the biggest and most anticipated award shows in Kpop. Last year, fans were extremely angry after learning that Mnet discriminated between idols and actors. While actors had proper waiting rooms with dressing tables and dessert, idols had to wait and get ready for their turns inside their cars in the parking lot despite the cold weather. Although MAMA is an award ceremony for singers, actors were the ones enjoying special privileges, causing outrage among idols’ fans.

After what happened last year, netizens were curious to see how Mnet would treat idols at MAMA 2021. Fortunately, the results do not disappoint. Based on the photos posted by NCT’s Yuta and the Coming Up Next previews of different groups, it can be seen that this year, idols get spacious, warm and luxurious waiting rooms. Idols can comfortably get ready before going on stage instead of suffering from the cold in the parking lot like last year.
