HYBE released its announcement on the report that Miyawaki Sakura (23), a former member of HKT48 and IZ*ONE, will participate in a new girl group under HYBE’s subside Source Music.
On the 23rd, a representative from the HYBE told My Daily, “We cannot confirm the contents of the contract. We hope you understand.”
Earlier on the same day, a media reported that Sakura had finished her contract with HYBE and that she would participate in their new girl group under the management Source Music.
There have been constant rumors of Sakura signing her exclusive contract with HYBE. On the 19th of last month, BTS’s management company declined to comment on such exclusive contract rumors, saying, “We cannot confirm the contents of the artist’s contract.” On the 27th, Sakura entered Korea through Incheon International Airport, adding more weight to her exclusive contract.
Miyawaki Sakura, who made her debut as a member of the Japanese group HKT48 in 2011, appeared on Mnet’s ‘Produce 48’ on Mnet in 2018 and finished second in her project group IZ*ONE. IZ*ONE ended their activities at the same time as their exclusive contract with CJ ENM ended in April.
