On the episode of Mnet’s “Girls Planet 999: Girls’ Generation” aired on August 13, the girls were preparing for their first mission.

MC Yeo Jin Goo came to Planet Camp to announce the first mission to the contestants – “Connect Mission”. 1 team has 9 members from 3 cells, and 2 teams will battle up with one song.

The mission songs are BLACKPINK’s “How You Like That”, IZ*ONE’s “Fiesta”, Oh My Girl’s “The Fifth Season”, TWICE’s “YES or YES”, EBS songs – EXO’s “The Eve”, BTS’s “Mic Drop”, and Seventeen’s “Pretty U”. After releasing the songs, the girls went through a morning mission where they have to connect their cells with their childhood photos. Whoever wins the morning mission would have a chance to choose her cell.

Yoo Da Yeon won the morning mission and chose Nonaka Shana and Ezaki Hikaru for her cell. Other contestants were nervous because the TOP9 has too many all-rounder members. Yoo Da Yeon’s cell picked EXO’s “The Eve” as their performing song, seeking the triple benefit.

The No.2 winner of the morning mission picked BLACKPINK’s song for their battle and chose Shen Xiaoting and Choi Yoo Jin to form her cell. With this rule, the other girls decided their teams and their performance songs. The last 3 girls were automatically teamed up.
