YG’s stock price is on a rise thanks to the BLACKPINK effect.
At 9:58 a.m on August 25th, YG Entertainment‘s stock price recorded 60,900 won, an up of 4.64% from that of the previous trading day. It even soared to reach a high of 62,200 won.
On the same day, YG Entertainment announced that BLACKPINK’s second full album “BORN PINK”, which is scheduled to be released on the 16th of next month, exceeded 2 million pre-orders. This is currently the best record for a female K-pop artist. BLACKPINK became the first K-pop girl group to achieve the title “million seller” with their first full album “THE ALBUM” in 2020.
BLACKPINK recently released “Pink Venom” as a pre-release song. The music video broke the world record for female artists by recording 90,4 million views within the first 24 hours of its release. BLACKPINK then became the fastest K-pop girl group to surpass 100 million views (in 29 hours and 35 minutes).
