Chinese top star Tang Wei, with her beauty the same as when she was 20 even in her 40s, attended the Chinese Film Development Forum. This is the opening forum of the Beijing International Film Festival which was on September 21st. Tang Wei then revealed she was enjoying her rural life in Korea.

However, she is not really enjoying country life. Tang will soon return to her main job as an actress, for the first time in 10 years since “Late Autumn”, through her husband Kim Tae-yong’s “Wonderland” and Park Chan-wook’s “Decision to Leave”.

Tang Wei appeared in the movie “Late Autumn” released in 2011 which led to her meeting her husband, director Kim Tae-yong, and they now have a daughter. Fans who are disappointed with the rare work activities after her childbirth are glad to hear about Tang Wei’s return. Especially when it’s a Korean work!

“Wonderland” is director Kim Tae-yong’s fourth feature film, featuring Tang Wei, Park Bo-gum, Suji, Jung Yoo-mi, Choi Woo-sik, and Gong Yoo. It is a movie set in the virtual world “Wonderland”, and Tang Wei is said to play the role of Gong Yoo‘s wife.

Director Park Chan-wook’s “Decision to Leave” is an authentic melodrama about what happens when detective Park Hae-il, who investigates the case of a man who fell to his death in the mountain, investigates Tang Wei, the wife of the deceased. The audience wonders what director Park Chanwook’s traditional melodrama will be like when combined with the thriller genre.

Both films have been filmed and will soon be released. “Wonderland” will be released in the second half of this year, and “Decision to Leave” will be screened first at the 2022 Cannes Film Festival. I hope both movies will do well in terms of box office success and art value.
