The 9th episode of Hometown Cha Cha Cha mostly told the story of Hye Jin’s father visiting his daughter.
After the sudden hug at the end of last week’s episode, both Doo Sik (Kim Seon Ho) and Hye Jin (Shin Min Ah) looked really confused at the beginning of episode 9. The peaceful life of Hye Jin in Gongjin Village was messed up since her father visited and accidentally heard people talked about Hye Jin’s spending a night at Doo Sik’s house. Earlier, Doo Sik left a bad impression on him as he spoke impolitely to him during the first meeting at his daughter’s home. He got angry and insisted that the two had to explain their relationship. To escape from the awkward situation, Doo Sik claimed himself as Hye Jin’s boyfriend.
Doo Sik met Sung Hyun (Lee Sang Yi) while taking Hye Jin’s father to the clinic. This guy made an immediate positive impact on Hye Jin’s father, while Doo Sik’s carefree attitude made Hye Jin’s father quite uncomfortable. That same carefreeness, on the other hand, erases the awkward atmosphere between Hye Jin and her father, letting Hye Jin enjoy the family’s bliss.
At the end of the conversation, after Hye Jin’s parents heard that Doo Sik was an orphan, they instantly opposed the couple’s relationship. As her father believed Doo Sik was not ideal, Hye Jin then argued that she had lost her mother and had a stepmother.
Doo Sik overheard Hye Jin and her father’s conversation, then he had a private conversation with Hye Jin’s father and admitted that he was not her boyfriend. It is the sincerity and the fact that Doo Sik understands Hye Jin very well that makes Hye Jin’s father satisfied. While the two men talked, Hye Jin and her stepmother also had a private chat, thanks to which Hye Jin gradually understood her father’s heart.
Doo Sik indirectly admits that he loves Hye Jin to Sung Hyun, which makes Sung Hyun decide not to miss the opportunity anymore and intend to confess to her. At the same time, Doo Sik also remembered the words of Hye Jin’s father and also decided to speak out his heart. Who will be first?
