“Hometown Cha Cha Cha” Gong Min-jung: “Shin Min-ah is warm and sensible, our humor matches”
Actress Gong Min-jung had fun recalling her filming time with Shin Min-ah.
Gong Min-jung held a written interview with Star News on Nov 3rd to mark the end of tvN drama “Hometown Cha Cha Cha” (written by Shin Ha-eun, directed by Yoo Je-won).
“Hometown Cha Cha Cha”, which ended on Oct 17th, is a work depicting a tiki-taka healing romance between the realist dentist Yoon Hye-jin and unemployed all-rounder Hong Ban-jang at Gongjin, a sea village. The last episode, the 16th episode, recorded a viewer rating of 12.7% (Nilson Korea), achieving a successful ending with the highest rating of the series.
Gong Min-jung played the role of Pyo Mi-sun, a friend of Yoon Hye-jin (Shin Min-ah), and she is also a person who co-leads the dentist’s office in Gongjin.
She said her acting chemistry with Shin Min-ah was “the best.” “During the filming, she totally became my best friend Hye-jin. Even our humors match well, so we shared jokes from time to time and laughed together a lot. I learned a lot from her. And I miss her jokes,” she said.
She then praised Shin Min-ah, “She is a very sensible and warm person. She is also considerate. She has never done anything half-heartedly. She always thinks and prepares a lot. She has prepared a lot of jokes beforehand. But I think that was her effort to be a real friend with the character Mi-sun. I’ve laughed a lot too.”
There are countless famous scenes between the two, but in particular, the scene where Pyo Mi-sun and Yoon Hye-jin went to Seoul to heal their tired hearts from Gongjin drew the most attention. They faced a sudden rain on their way home after eating near the Han River. At that time, Yoon Hye-jin realized her love for Hong Doo-sik (Kim Seon-ho) and returned to Gongjin in a hurry. Pyo Mi-sun then cheered for Yoon Hye-jin from afar.
