Hyeyeon, a member of Gugudan, will leave the group due to health reasons.
Jellyfish Entertainment, the group’s agency, posted a message in its official fan café on Oct. 25th, saying, “We will deliver an official position on the future activities of member Hyeyeon prior to Gugudan’s comeback.”
“She has been concentrating on her studies with sufficient rest because of health reasons and has been discussing with us about her future career and entertainment activities,” the agency said, “After careful consideration, Hyeyeon decided to finish her career as a member of Gugudan and focus more on her studies and recovery for the time being. Although she has finished her career as a member of the group, she is still an artist under Jellyfish Entertainment.”
They added, “As Gugudan will release a new album on November 6th, we hope you can continue to show the eight members of the group and Hyeyeon constant love and encouragement.”
Meanwhile, Hyeyeon made her debut as a Gugudan member in 2016. The group is planning to return on November 6th.
