Goosebumps Guaranteed! A Report on the “Haikyuu!! 10th Anniversary Exhibition: All Senses Exhibition”

Haikyuu!! fans, get ready to dive back into the court! The anime's 10th-anniversary exhibition was a hit, with fans reliving iconic moments and celebrating the series' legacy. Don't miss out if it's coming to your city!

The “Haikyuu!! Anime 10th Anniversary Exhibition: All Senses Exhibition,” a retrospective of the anime “Haikyuu!!,” was held in Tokyo from July 13th to August 4th. Airing for a total of 4 seasons and 85 episodes from April 2014 to December 2020, the anime “Haikyuu!!” celebrated its 10th anniversary with this exhibition. I went to explore the highlights of the “Haikyuu!! Anime 10th Anniversary Exhibition: All Senses Exhibition.” I infiltrated a press preview held prior to the exhibition’s opening and reported on what I found inside.

A look back at 10 years of the anime “Haikyuu!!,” featuring memorable scenes, quotes, teams, and characters!

As I approached the entrance, I could hear the cheers of “Chance ball!” and “Karasuno, fight!”…

With my eyes closed, it felt like I was right in the gymnasium. I was fully prepared to enjoy the exhibition.

The first thing that catches my eye upon entering is a series of iconic scenes starting from the moment the protagonist, Shoyo Hinata, first encounters volleyball. Memories of meeting Tobio Kageyama, the Inter High qualifiers, training camps, the Spring High qualifiers, and more flood my mind as I relive the 10 years I’ve spent with the anime “Haikyuu!!”.

After viewing the exhibition, I’m guided to a voice multi-angle theater.

A giant screen is used to revisit the pivotal matches between Hinata and Kageyama.

With a surround sound system, I can feel as if I’m standing on the court myself, experiencing an incredible sense of realism.

Which matches are featured is a surprise. You’re sure to leave thinking, “Haikyuu!! is amazing!” and “I love it!”

After the theater, a character focus area unfolds.

Here, a variety of characters gather! The dynamic character visuals and three-dimensional displays of iconic scenes are truly impressive.

Since several lines from each character are featured, it’s fun to search for your favorite quotes.

My personal favorite is Keiji Akaashi. The chosen line for him is…

“We’ll be sure to clear a path for you.”

This is one of my top-three favorite quotes for Akaashi. Thank you for including it.

As you approach the exhibit, you can hear the voices, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the world of your favorite characters. As a side note, if you listen closely near Akaashi, you can faintly hear Bokuto’s “The Way of Ace,” so I highly recommend it. Everyone, please be sure to listen closely.

Next up is the team focus area.

Here, we take a look back at the seven schools: Karasuno, Aoba Johsai, Nekoma, Date Tech, Shiratorizawa Academy, Fukurodani Academy, and Inarizaki.

The captain’s uniforms and team jerseys of each school are also on display. Plus, you can purchase the jerseys in the merchandise area! But I want all of the schools, so I can’t decide…

On the monitors, intense matches and heartwarming scenes are playing. I watched them over and over again, and before I knew it, a lot of time had passed.

Finally, I arrived at the original drawing area. Here, a collection of artwork from 10 years of the “Haikyuu!!” anime was on display, which you can only see here. There was also a specially drawn visual for the 10th anniversary of the anime. The walls were covered with character illustrations from magazines, CD jackets, calendars, and collaborative visuals. There were even illustrations from merchandise I missed out on, making me feel a bit regretful… I wanted to live here and just keep looking at it! It was truly a dreamlike space.

Near the exit, all of the past key visuals were lined up. I was able to enjoy the history of “Haikyuu!!” in an almost museum-like atmosphere. In the merchandise area, there were goods featuring illustrations drawn exclusively for this exhibition. There was a long line of attractive items such as acrylic stands, acrylic blocks, and tapestries.

Personally, I was really interested in the team jerseys that I saw on display. And the “Soar, Tokonami!!” banner face towel that I hesitated to buy during the pre-sale. Seeing the real thing made me waver again. I could already see myself happily buying it when the exhibition started.
