Goo Hara’s brother to proceed with a legislative petition for the ‘Goo Hara Act’.

The late singer and actor Goo Hara’s brother, Goo Hoin, said he has requested a petition to legislate the so-called Gu Hara Act.

Goo stood before reporters at a law office in Seocho-gu, Seoul, at 2 p.m. on March 18th and made his position on his request for trial regarding to dividing the inheritance of the late Goo Hara’s property.

On the same day, lawyer S. Noh Jong-eon, a law firm that serves as Goo’s legal representative, mentioned the petition for the “Goo Hara Act” and said, “We made a legislative petition to the National Assembly to enact the “Goo Hara Act” on February 18. According to the current legal system, if a child dies before a parent due to an accident, the child`s property, including the death compensation, is inherited to the parent even if they have abandoned the child, and the result is contrary to the universal justice and humanity as the parents will take the property benefits of the child`s unfortunate death while not fulfilling their duty to raise the child.”

“As we proceed with the case of the inheritance division trial, we also petitioned for the enactment of the Goo Hara Act (a revise on the inheritance of civil law),” said Roh.

Previously, Goo Hara’s brother who had raised and taken care of her has been appearing on news and media outlets to accuse her parents of trying to inherit her property even though they had abandoned her
