Forbes Korea announced the top 40 most powerful stars in Korea 2020: Only a few idol groups’ names appeared
Recently, Forbes Korea has announced the top 40 most famous celebrities in this country. They are all active stars in areas such as music, movies, television and social media.
Ranked No. 1 is BTS, the top Kpop group today. Over the years, the Big Hit boy group has solidified its position in the entertainment industry, and has a high recognition globally, not just in the domestic market. Close to BTS’s rank is BLACKPINK, the girls of YG have made many breakthroughs in 2019 with the mini album “Kill This Love. Moving onto 2020, BLACKPINK has not yet made a comeback, however, that could not stop them from earning the 3rd place.
BTS, Black Pink and Twice are the only Kpop groups to be in the Forbes’ top 40 most powerful stars in 2020. Another famous name of Kpop that also appeared in the top 10 is Kim Hee Chul (Super Junior), but he is classified as a “comedian”.
