Outstanding actors of the new generation have been listed as the desired main cast for the remake of “Princess Hours”.
As the drama that became a hit all over Asia and contributed to the Hallyu wave’s prevalence, the news of “Princess Hours” (“Goong”) getting a remake has attracted much attention from netizens. The unit that holds the copyright of the original manga has reportedly signed an agreement to work on a drama remake with the production company Group Eight.
“Princess Hours” was adapted into a TV series in 2006, starring a star-studded cast including the male lead played by Joo Ji Hoon and the female lead played by Yoon Eun Hye.
Set in the royal palace of Korea, “Princess Hours” revolves around an arranged marriage between Crown Prince Lee Shin (Joo Ji Hoon) and Crown Princess Shin Chae Kyung (Yoon Eun Hye) who was originally from a commoner’s family. In addition to portraying the intersection of history, “Princess Hours” also depicts a “childish” yet sweet and adorable love story between the crown prince and the crown princess. At the time of its broadcast 15 years ago, “Princess Hours” achieved great success with an impressive rating of 27% and took the popularity of the cast to another level.

When Suzy first pursued an acting career, her acting sparked controversy as many viewers claimed she only looked pretty and lacked the skills. Many netizens believe that no Han So Hee is a perfect match for the role of Min Hyo Rin – the crown prince’s first love. The rising actress showed a sizzling chemistry with Song Kang in the drama “Nevertheless” released earlier this year. Han So Hee is also known for her decent acting and pretty look that resembles Song Ji Hyo. In addition, the reunion of the “Nevertheless” couple Hee – Kang in a new drama will definitely attract much attention.
