EXO excluded from “Top 10 groups with the most fans in Kpop” despite their huge fandom

Though EXO owns one of the biggest fandoms in Kpop, they make everyone very surprised because they are not included in the Top 10 Fancafe Ranking in April.

The ranking of the biggest boy groups’ fancafes in Kpop updated in April 2018 has just been published on a website. This ranking bases on the number of members in those groups’ fancafes during the past year. This number in each fancafe can increase or decrease accordingly the groups’ activities within the year.
Fancafe is a place to show off the “size” of each fandom. On fancafe, photos, videos and announcements about their idols are regularly uploaded, and there are many posts for all members to have a discussion or share something with one another. Normally, fancafe is created by artists’s management company or by their fandom. The number of official members in an artist’s fancafe is a way to determine how popularity he/she is.

The famous boy group BTS dominates this ranking with 803.295 members in total. At present, BTS still keeps expanding their activities in Korea as well as other countries. This helps them get more and more popular.

According to this ranking, the forth to tenth places belong to Big Bang, INFINITE, BTOB, B1A4, VIXX, BLOCK B and SEVENTEEN. Fans are extremely surprised because EXO isn’t included in the top 10.

EXO unfortunately is in the 11^th place with 135.078 members. Their fancafe has decreased 486 members compared to the March fancafe ranking even though the boys have continuously had many activities. Some people state that EXO’s fancafe is no longer well taken care like before because EXO now has their own SNS and they usually update their photos there. That’s why the number of members in their fancafe has decreased instead of increasing like BTS’ or Wanna One’s fancafes.
As there are a lot of active idols at the moment, it’s very reasonable for the number of official members in their fancafes to have some changes. Are you surprised with this ranking?
