Originally a shy kid
Choi Woo Sik was born in 1990 in Seoul, Korea, but later immigrated with his family to the suburbs of Vancouver in Canada. Unlike many other actors, Choi Woo Sik got into acting quite late. He originally passed the Computer Engineering exam in Canada, but in 2010, Woo Sik secretly returned to his home country without telling his parents to participate in an audition for a movie when he was only a 20-year-old freshman in college.
The audition did not end well, but because he received good reviews from the judges, he decided to stay in Korea to pursue his dream, despite his family’s objections. He took another college entrance exam and majored in Cultural Studies while diligently participating in auditions. Choi Woo Sik‘s perseverance finally paid off when in 2011, he got his first roles in Living in Style and The Duo.
