MV Dynamite not only helped BTS “defeat” BLACKPINK but also collected 700 million views in a record time.
Recently, BTS and BLACKPINK fan communities have raced to increase views for MV Dynamite and How You Like That to compete for the title of Kpop’s most viewed music video in 2020. The Big Hit male group not only outstripped the YG girl group, but they also set a huge record at the milestone of 700 million views.
The MV Dynamite reached 700 million views at about 9:42 pm (KST) on December 17. BTS’s MV was released in August 2020, so it only took 3 months, 26 days, and 8 hours (equivalent to 118.3 days) to reach the aforementioned milestone. Thereby, Dynamite has excellently become the MV of a Korean artist reached 700 million views in the shortest time.
The previous record of all Korean artists belonged to PSY and MV Gangnam Style (118.7 days). In the Kpop group segment, BLACKPINK’s DDU-DU DDU-DU MV used to hold a record to reach 700 million views after 266.5 days. But now, both PSY and BLACKPINK are surpassed by BTS and the super hit Dynamite, even though this MV debuted on August 21.
Although Dynamite set a record as the fastest MV to receive 700 million views of Korean artists, the results of the race for the most viewed Kpop MV in 2020 have not been finished. There are 2 weeks left until 2020 to end. Whether BLACKPINK and How You Like That will have a spectacular comeback, let’s wait and see!
