Does BLACKPINK have a chance to come to the 2022 Grammys?

Throughout 2021, BLACKPINK only focused on the members’ solo activities, but the group’s popularity has not declined both in Korea and internationally. Besides BTS, will BLACKPINK make an appearance at the 2022 Grammys?

As reported by Billboard, a total of 463 artists from many countries and regions around the world are eligible to be nominated for “Best New Artist” at the 2022 Grammys awards. Moreover, this is also the highest number in the past 8 years of this prestigious award.

In the list of nominees published by Billboard, a few artists have garnered much attention. One of the notable nominees is Polo G, the male rapper born in 1999. He rose to fame thanks to his debut at No.1 on Billboard 200 with the album Hall Of Fame (2021). He is up against strong candidates such as BLACKPINK, Olivia Rodrigo, The Kid Laroi, Gabby Barrett, Saweetie, YoungBoy Never Broke Again, Italian band Maneskin…

Regarding K-pop acts alone, groups who are eligible for a 2022 Grammy nomination for “Best New Artist” apart from BLACKPINK are TXT, Monsta X, and TWICE. Voting for the first round began on October 22 and will end on November 5.

The official nominations for the 64th Annual Grammy Awards will be announced on November 23. Voting for the final round will take place from December 6 to January 5, 2022. Based on the list, BLACKPINK is absolutely not inferior to their competitors, on the contrary, they are also a front-runner thanks to their series of achievements and huge global fan base. For many years, BLACKPINK has always been considered the top girl group in Kpop and one of the biggest girl groups in the world. They also set a series of new records both as a group and thanks to the members’ outstanding solo activities.

The 2022 Grammys awards ceremony will take place at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California on January 31, 2022. Fans are hoping that the YG girls will make history with their first-ever prestigious Grammy award.
