JTBC’s highly anticipated drama “King the Land” has completed its filming today (June 6th), South Korea’s Memorial Day.
The cast and crew of “King the Land”, who started filming in September last year, has been on a nine-month journey. With the completion of filming before the premiere, it is now ready to meet viewers as a pre-produced drama.
“King the Land” tells the story of Gu Won (Lee Jun Ho), a man who despises laughter, clashing with Cheon Sarang (Im Yoona), an angel who always smiles, at the King Hotel, a dreamland for hoteliers.
The combination of Lee Jun Ho and Im Yoona, a fan-favorite pairing, has already garnered attention since the casting stage.
Currently, “King the Land” is scheduled as the follow-up drama to “Doctor Cha”. Lee Jun Ho and Im Yoona are expected to continue the success achieved by Uhm Jung Hwa and Kim Byung Chul.
JTBC’s weekend dramas have continued to be hits, starting with “Reborn Rich” starring Song Joong Ki and Lee Sung Min, followed by “Agency” starring Lee Bo Young, and “Doctor Cha” starring Uhm Jung Hwa. “Reborn Rich” recorded the highest ratings of 26.9% nationwide and “Doctor Cha” also received significant attention, recently ending with a rating of 18.5%.
With its completely different vibes from the previous dramas, the romantic comedy “King the Land” is highly anticipated as it has the potential to continue JTBC’s success.
JTBC’s “King the Land” will premiere on June 17th at 10:30 PM KST and will be simultaneously released on Netflix.
