Dixie D’Amelio responds to rumors of a collaboration with BLACKPINK

Rumors of a collaboration between Dixie D’Amelio and BLACKPINK have surfaced several times after the American singer followed BLACKPINK on Instagram.

American singer and social media star Dixie D’Amelio recently made a guest appearance on “The Zach Sang Show” to promote her latest song “A Letter To Me”. When BLACKPINK was brought up, she talked about what it was like meeting the girl group in person at the VMAs on August 29.

Dixie D’Amelio said, “I sat behind them at the VMAs, they were very sweet.” In addition, she confirmed that she had been following BLACKPINK members on Instagram for about a year and a half, which was way before rumors of their collaboration sparked.

Unfortunately, a collaboration between Dixie D’Amelio and BLACKPINK is not happening as of now. Dixie D’Amelio clarified that she followed the girls simply because she was a fan and she didn’t do so to seek attention either.

She said, “(The news of me following BLACKPINK) is posted every couple months, and people are like, ‘Collab between BLACKPINK and Dixie D’Amelio…’ so I’m like, ‘No.’ I quote tweeted it with a link to my album as a joke. They’re like, ‘You’re using them!’ I’m like, ‘Because you guys are making things up. I just follow them.’”

Meanwhile, following the pre-release single “Pink Venom”, BLACKPINK is about to release their 2nd full album “Born Pink” on September 16. Starting from September 9, individual teaser images for the album’s title track “Shut Down” have been released one by one. With a dark gray tone as the main theme, BLACKPINK members exude a fierce and mysterious charm. The teaser image of the last member, Lisa, will come out at midnight KST on September 13.
