‘Dispatch’ investigated in the claims that NU’EST’s Baekho asked Ahn PD to exclude him from Wanna One

PD Ahn Joon Young confessed that he changed Baekho (NU’EST) ‘s rank because it was the will of this male idol.

On November 18, the Supreme Court of Korea officially announced a list of 12 trainees who were victims of vote manipulation during the four seasons of Produce 101 competition, including many prominent names like Baekho (  NU’EST), Gaeun (After School), Han Chowon, Lee Jinhyuk … At the same time, the court also sentenced Ahn Joon Young to 2 years in prison, producer Kim Yong Bum to 1 year and 8 months in prison.

PD Ahn Joon Young confessed that he changed Baekho (NU'EST) 's rank because it was the will of this male idol.

Recently, however, netizens’ attention was on Baekho (NU’EST) when director Ahn Joon Young’s testimony was revealed.  Specifically, Ahn Joon Young revealed that it was Baekho who actively requested to be eliminated.  Dispatch has stepped in to investigate the truth behind the allegations aimed at the NU’EST member.

Specifically, PD Ahn Joon Young admitted that both the crew working on the show knew that Kang Dongho (Baekho’s real name, used in the competition) had an anxiety disorder.  In fact, during the recording of the competition, Baekho suddenly fell, saying he couldn’t breathe.  The staff had to call an ambulance immediately.

After arriving at the hospital, Baekho was diagnosed with an anxiety disorder.  The male idol had to take tranquillizers while participating in Produce 101. Baekho’s best friend revealed that the male idol attended the program while his health was not good, his mentality was very depressed.  NU’EST had many difficulties, so they considered Produce 101 as their last chance. So, it affected Baekho’s mentality.

In the end, Baekho confided in his mental health with a senior director of Pledis Entertainment and said, “It’s okay if I get eliminated now”. Pledis actively helped Baekho with the treatment and informed Mnet. Ahn Joon Young confessed that in May 2017, when he met Dong Ho at Samsan Gymnasium in Incheon, he asked Baekho, “You said you want to be eliminated?”  and got the answer “I can’t afford to continue”

All these details became Ahn Joon Young’s excuse during the trial.  “Because the trainees wanted to drop the rankings, I changed the rankings” – Ahn Joon Young said.  However, both the investigative agency and the court did not admit this argument.

When controversy broke out, some netizens “attacked” Baekho.  On November 20, a representative from NU’EST’s side has also spoken up regarding this Dispatch report, saying, “It’s true that Kang Dong Ho was taking medication for an anxiety disorder during ‘Produce 101’, but he endured it to make NU’EST’s name known. He did his best during the program, and he does not feel ashamed of any of the votes that he received during that time.”

A friend of Baekho also shared about the male idol’s regret, “Every minute of Baekho on the show is sincere. He has completed the journey, and put in his best effort.  So there is nothing to be ashamed of.

Dispatch commented that Ahn Joon Young has “killed” Baekho twice.  The first time was to robe Baekho’s chance to debut in the finale.  The second time was to use Baekho as an excuse to justify his crime
