Disappointing news about actress Kim Tae Hee was reported… Agency already confirmed and issued official statement
On March 1st, Aju Business Daily reported that following Lee Byung Hun and Kwon Sang Woo, Kim Tae Hee was recently subjected to an intensive tax audit by the Tax Authorities and fined hundreds of millions of won.
According to the media, the National Tax Service has mobilized investigators from the Seoul Tax Office to conduct special tax audits on Kim Tae Hee and Lua Entertainment.
Established in July 2009, Lua Entertainment is a company operated by Kim Tae Hee’s family, including her biological sister Kim. Kim Tae Hee was under that company for 10 years from January 2010 to 2019.
Lua Entertainment already changed its name to Lua Asset Co., Ltd. in August 2019 after Kim Tae Hee signed an exclusive contract with a new agency. It is currently in charge of planning and directing events.
Lua Asset is currently located in an expensive apartment owned by Kim Tae Hee in Yongsan-gu, Seoul. The actress reportedly purchased this apartment for 4.2 billion won in August 2018 and registered it as the Lua Asset’s address in July 2021.
At first, the Seoul Tax Office started a tax audit on individuals, but later expanded its investigation to Lua Entertainment and collected a large among of taxes.
Regarding this announcement, Kim Tae Hee’s agency Story J Company stated, “Over the past few years, Kim Tae Hee has faithfully taken care of the tax issues. She has paid taxes to the tax authorities in accordance with the law”, adding “This incident occurred because the payments of advertising/modeling fees were delayed when the actress ended her contract with former agency Lua Entertainment”.
Kim Tae Hee owns Lua Asset’s apartment in Yongsan-gu, and a building in Gangnam-gu under the name of Prestige 2 Asset Co., Ltd. In particular, Prestige 2 Asset is a real estate rental company founded by Kim Tae Hee in November 2018.
Prestige 2 Asset building is near Gangnam Station, and it has three basement floors and six ground floors. After purchasing the building at 13 billion won in 2014, Kim Tae Hee established Prestige 2 Asset and transferred the ownership to a corporation through in-kind investment in 2018.
