2 dancers of DOS crew, Cho young-seo and Kim Do-kyun, revealed the friendly atmosphere during the filming of “Hometown Cha Cha Cha”.
Cho Young-seo and Kim Do-kyun, who appeared as members of the idol group DOS in tvN’s drama “Hometown Cha Cha Cha”, are actually talented choreographers and dancers. The two created the choreography for DOS’s hit song “Just a Feeling” in the movie and also taught actors Kim Seon-ho and Shin Min-ah several dance moves.
Cho Young-seo and Kim Do-kyun recently joined an interview with Xports News at a café in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, and talked about some behind-the-scenes stories at the filming site of “Hometown Cha Cha Cha” and how they felt about appearing in this drama. Especially, they also recalled the memories when they taught actors Kim Seon-ho and Shin Min-ah how to dance for the KPOP festival stage in episode 6 of “Hometown Cha Cha Cha”.
First, Cho Young-seo said, “Ahead of the filming, the production team ask me to record a video in order t o show to the actors. After a while, when I was waiting in the car on the day of the shoot, the production team asked me to teach the dance to the actors. It was difficult for actors to learn the dance perfectly during their tight schedules, but they tried to learn the dance passionately.” He said although Kim Seon-ho and Shin Min-ah had only 30 minutes, they were all focused on learning the choreography and even continued practicing the dance after then.
Kim Do-kyun praised Shin Min-ah’s professional side, saying, “I was dancing under the stage, and actress Shin Min-ah followed my dance moves. She followed me perfectly without feeling confused. She did it so naturally that I couldn’t even feel that she was following my dance when I watched the episode on TV.”
The two also recalled their memories of Kim Seon-ho, who brightened the atmosphere at the filming site with his cheerful personality. Cho Young-seo laughed and said, “At first, he was really confused when he saw the choreography. Then he kept on thinking about how to get through that on his own. After about 10 or 20 minutes, he regained his motivation and quickly learned the dance moves to show a good performance. In the end, he even asked me, ‘Did I dance well?’.”
The dancer also expressed his gratitude towards Kim Seon-ho by telling a touching story, saying, “As soon as Kim Seon-ho saw us at the filming site with other fellow actors and staff, he recognized us and shouted ‘DOS’ happily. Other staff around also shouted, ‘Wow it’s DOS’ and cheered for us with him.”
