In an interview after the end of “Heard It Through the Grapevine,” she shared her audition story. Gong Seung Yeon, who went to several casting auditions, said, “I couldn’t say everything I wanted to say during the auditions. I usually only acted on the script given, so I wrote a letter.”

Because she was unable to fully express herself during the audition, Gong Seung Yeon decided to write a letter to the director instead. In the letter, she expressed her admiration for his previous works and her eagerness to work with him.
