Controversial actress Seo Ye-ji’s comeback work “Eve” to premiere today (June 1st)

tvN’s new Wednesday-Thursday drama “Eve” has finally been unveiled.

tvN’s new Wednesday-Thursday drama “Eve” (written by Yoon Young-mi, directed by Park Bong-seop), which is drawing attention as actress Seo Ye-ji’s comeback work, will premiere at 10:30 p.m. on June 1st.

Prior to the broadcast, a three-minute highlight video of “Eve” was released on May 30th. The released video reveals a shocking story in the past which made Ra-el (Seo Ye-ji) dream of revenge, arousing curiosity about what happened 13 years ago. In particular, Ra-el told Yoon-gyeom (Park Byung-eun), who said that he would give her a chance to run away, “If you want me, you can crawl in here. I’ll be the owner, not you”, raising tension.

As Seo Ye-ji’s comeback work, “Eve” has been a hot topic even before its airing. Starting with rumors of gaslighting her ex-boyfriend in April last year, Seo Ye-ji stopped her activities after being embroiled in various controversies such as school violence, forgery of educational background and abuse of power towards staff.

Seo Ye-ji, who kept silent without clear explanation for various rumors, announced her return with “Eve”. However, “Eve” was noisy even before its start due to the sudden postponement of premiere and the omission of press conference. Regarding this, tvN explained, “Due to our filming schedule, it has become impossible for us to hold a press conference.”

“Eve” is a tragic melodrama that tells the story of a chaebol family ₩2 trillion divorce lawsuit that shocks the entire nation. Director Park Bong-seop, who has been recognized for his solid directing skills through OCN’s “The Uncanny Counter”, and writer Yoon Young-mi, who penned SBS’ “Nice Witch”, raised expectations with their collaboration. Actors Seo Ye-ji, Park Byung-eun, Yoo Sun and Lee Sang-yeob took the lead roles. It will premiere at 10:30 p.m. on June 1st.
