‘The Album’ hasexcellently debuted at no. 2 on the Official UK Album Chart. Before that, fans were surprised by the steady growth of that album in such a fastidious market. Based on its mid-week performance, ‘The Album’ was initially predicted to be at No.6.But due to the steady sales, within the next three days, ‘The Album’ is expected to increase to No. 3 and No. 2. Notably, on the 5th and 6th days, ‘The Album’ quickly narrowed the gap to No.1 from 8,000 to 5,300 units in one night.
The data has not been oficially announced yet, but after the seventh day, the gap between no.1 and no.2 this week is to be quite close.
Also, last week, ‘The Album’ had the most sales of cassettes in the UK with 5,700 copies. The Album kicks off at No. 2 in the U.K. this week, coming in behind only Queen and Adam Lambert’s Live Around The World, a collection of live recordings from one of the most successful bands of all time in the country. Therefor, Blackpink makes history as the first Korean girl group to chart a top 10 album in the U.K. With their runner-up placement, Blackpink best their own previous showing, as their 2019 EP Kill This Love only climbed as high as No. 40.
