Korean netizens have shared their honest opinion, stating that Red Velvet’s choreographies are too bad for a girl group from a big company.
Recently, many topics related to Red Velvet have become the talk of the town. Their first Perfect All-kill for “Power Up”, Yeri’s dancing skills, etc have all been widely discussed by netizens. Now, even the choreographies of Red Velvet have become a heated debate on social sites.
Despite being released a few years ago, Red Velvet’s “One of These Nights” and “Dump Dump”
According to many netizens, terribly made choreographies and limited dancing skills are the main reasons why Red Velvet’s performances look chaotic and unbalanced, too unprofessional for a BIG3 group. Many people think that except for Seulgi, the other four members are not good at dancing, which makes Red Velvet the girl group with the worst dancing stages when compared to other groups.
A big number of netizens agree with this opinion, claiming that even though they love Red Velvet’s songs, they have to admit dancing is the girls’ biggest problem. Many even compare Red Velvet to TWICE and BlackPink, two other representative girl groups of BIG3, saying that the SM groups have very weird dance moves.
Many comments have been written to criticize the female idols’ live dancing stages:
“Ugly choreography + bad dancing skills”
“I only release it when I read this. It’s true that the moves are badly made and the members can’t dance. Irene is in the dance line of the group, but… Many of their titles songs have weird looking choreographies, which make them uninteresting to watch.”
“Some members can’t even do the easiest moves.”
“I love “Bad Boy,” but I think the members can’t handle the group’s choreographies. Except for Seulgi, the others seem to be terrible at dancing.
“Their arms and legs are too short, that’s why their moves look so ugly.”
“Red Velvet has the worst choreographies among popular girl groups.”
“What to say.. Their dance looks so odd.”
“7/7 (One Of These Nights) is really unacceptable, SM needs to fire all the people who choreographed it.”
“Joy is too high compared to the other members, which makes their formation unbalanced. It’s like putting a Nine Muses member into Crayon Pop. Furthermore, their dances look ugly and the members can’t dance properly. Their songs are attractive, though. I’m still listening to “Rookie”.”
“All the members can’t dance well. Except for Seulgi. At least Irene looks ok. Joy stands out because she is tall. Wendy had never tried dancing before she entered SM. Yeri has trained for a long time but she hasn’t made any progress.”
So what is your opinion of Red Velvet’s dancing and choreography?
