CL and BLACKPINK Rosé, K-pop fashion icons who turned the New York ‘Met Gala’ upside down

CL and BLACKPINK Rosé are the first Kpop idols to attend Met Gala – the biggest fashion event of the year.

On September 13th, the ‘2021 Met Gala In America: A Lexicon of Fashion’ was held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art (local time). It is a charity fundraising event held by American Vogue Editor-in-Chief Anna Wintour on the first Monday of May each year, and it is regarded as one of the greatest fashion events of the year, attracting attention from the fashion industry each and every year.

The event was canceled last year due to the epidemic, and this year it was held four months later on a significantly reduced scale.

CL (former 2NE1 leader) presented a one-of-a-kind fusion denim dress that reinterprets hanbok and denim, an iconic American fashion material, in line with this year’s Met Gala theme, ‘In America: A Lexicon of Fashion.’

Meanwhile, Rosé (BLACKPINK) showed off her unique chic look on the red carpet wearing Saint Laurent’s black and white customized dress with white ribbon detail. In addition, metal and enamel clover choker and colorful drop earrings were added to complete her bold party look.

Rosé, who is working as a global ambassador for YSL, also perfectly showed the aspect of “human Saint Laurent” on this day.
