Boy group BTS was honored with the Daesang (Grand Prize) at THE FACT Music Awards for 5 years in a row.
On October 8th, BTS was named the winner of Daesang at the 2022 THE FACT Music Awards. BTS has won Daesang every year since 2018 when the first THE FACT Music Awards was held.
BTS took home a total of 7 trophies, including Daesang, Artist of the Year, and the Fan N Star Choice Award for Individual (Jin).
Taking the stage for the Daesang, BTS’s leader RM said, “We don’t know if our group had done better than many artists who came here with us today or not, but we think we were able to win this award because we have been working so hard for 10 years. We really want to tell you how we feel honestly and coolly as we always do, but we think we’ll be able to show you that soon later when many more things are well-organized”, delivering a meaningful acceptance speech. He added, “We’ll show you everything we can do well on October 15th in Busan. We’re practicing for the concert every day so please look forward to it”.
Member Suga also confessed, “It’s been a long time since I last heard such a loud cheer like this in Korea. K-pop fans have also worked hard during the pandemic. We can have more award ceremonies and stages where we can run freely in front of you guys now, so please enjoy it as much as you want. ARMYs, you did a great job. I really want to say that I love you all”.
Jimin said, “We are not showing you all anything specific, but we’re only talking about precious things among us”, adding “I’m always grateful for your support, and thank you for letting us hear your beautiful voices today”.
V shared, “We still have a concert in Busan and we’re going to do something really amazing there”, raising fans’ expectations.
Trot singer Im Young-woong showed his ‘hero power’ by winning five awards, including Artist of the Year.
New Jeans, LE SSERAFIM, and IVE won Rookie of the Year, which they have only one chance to receive in their career.
