BTS V has become the first celebrity in the world to have personal ads on a special ABC SuperSign LED billboard in New York’s Times Square.
BTS held their first concert at Citi Field in New York on October 6th, and is known as one of the most popular pop stars including Paul McCartney, Beyoncé and Lady Gaga.
Tickets for BTS’ first-ever U.S. stadium show sold out in a matter of minutes after going on sale. Subway operations in New York were also adjusted for the six-day concert. The New York Subway Corporation even added an alternative route because of BTS’ performance in Citi Field .
Particularly, the billboard of ABC Supersign LED, located in the center of Times Square, Manhattan, New York, showed a huge ad featuring none other than V’s smiley face. It is the first time in the world that an individual celebrity has been advertised through the ABC Supersign LED billboard, which represents Times Square.
ARMYs have banded together to do something special for BTS, buying a special billboard in New York’s Times Square to celebrate the group’s fifth anniversary. In particular, articles related to this also appeared in the British daily newspaper Metro, attracting a lot of attention.
Meanwhile, BTS has just finished the North American tour with great success after the performance at Citi Field, and will continue their tour in Europe starting with London on OCtober 10th.
