BTS smashes BLACKPINK’s record, continuously hit new milestones on Youtube with two English songs

BTS’s Dynamite and Butter are continuing proving their power as they continuously hit new milestones on the YouTube platform.

On August 6, BTS’s Dynamite MV officially surpassed 1.2 billion views on YouTube. This is the group’s third product to reach this milestone after DNA and Boy With Luv. It took 11 months, 16 days and 5 hours to achieve this since its release date was August 21 last year.

Dynamite is the fastest MV to reach 1.2 billion views on YouTube for a Korean group, breaking the record previously held by Kill This Love (BLACKPINK) with 1 year, 10 months and 4 days. It is worth mentioning that the old record of the YG girl group was set on February 9 this year and was usurped by Big Hit Music’s boy group after less than a half of a year.

Just one day later, on August 7, BTS’ Butter MV also officially surpassed 500 million views on YouTube. This is the group’s 11th product to reach the milestone after DNA, Boy With Luv, Dynamite, MIC Drop, FAKE LOVE, IDOL, Blood Sweat & Tears, FIRE, DOPE and Save ME.

The “global boy group” released the MV Butter at 1 pm KST on May 21, which means it took 77 days and 20 hours to reach half a billion views on YouTube. Therefore, the record for the fastest MV of a Kpop group to achieve the above achievement still belongs to Dynamite with a record of 59 days and 20 hours.

Butter has topped the list of Kpop groups’ MVs that have received 100, 200, or 300 million views in the shortest amount of time. However, at the 400 million milestone, the song had fallen one place, and by the 500 million milestone, it was only third behind Dynamite and How You Like That.
