BTS, Red Velvet, PENTAGON and IU’s songs were ranked among the top 100 songs of the year by Billboard.

On Dec. 11th, Billboard posted the list of Billboard Critics Pick 2018’s 100 Best Songs , saying, “The definition of pop music is always changing, but the last 12 months
Among them, Korean singers’ songs ranked in the top of the list. BTS‘ ‘Fake Love’ was ranked 22nd. “Fake Love” is the title track of “Love Yourself Tear.” C.K, who chose the song, explained, “The group’s Love Yourself album series can be seen as a traditional narrative arc, and this historic smash is the part in the story where the band mines the depths of despair, loneliness and heartbreak.” and added, “It’s not enough for BTS to pen another breakup song — the real tragedy, they say, is the sense of
Red Velvet ‘Bad Boy‘, which has a unique melody, was ranked 43rd. Billboard officials also chose PENTAGON‘s “Shine,” a popular song in Korea, to be at No. 69th. Tamar Herman said, “Driven by quirky brass and onomatopoeic chants, the South Korean boy band’s 10 members alternate between charming verses and rambunctious raps.”
IU’s ‘Bbi Bbi‘ was ranked 87th. Jeff Benjamin complimented IU by saying, “If BTS proved that conscious K-pop can cross over, IU makes the case for deeply personal K-pop. Korea’s chart-topping songbird IU delivers a warning shot to haters and critics with this deceptively sweet and bouncy R&B cut, which finds her giving a “yellow C-A-R-D” to those who disrespect and infringe on someone’s privacy.”
Meanwhile, the No.1 song in the top 100 songs of the year by Billboard officials was Cardi B, J Balvin & Bad Bunny’s “I Like It.”
